It is with great sadness that the Parish Council has learnt that Parish Councillor Keith Mitchell, passed away on Wednesday 26 August 2020, after battling with cancer for some months.

Keith was a stalwart member of this community of Adderbury.

He served as Adderbury’s Councillor on Oxfordshire County Council for 24 years and was Leader of the Oxfordshire County Council from 2001 to 2012. He had two separate spells on Adderbury Parish Council, first from 1988 to 2008 and again from January 2017 until his death, when he also served as Vice-Chairman. He was appointed a CBE in Her Majesty The Queen's Birthday Honours in June 2007 for his services to Local Government.

Elsewhere in Adderbury, Keith was involved in other community organisations including Friends of the Community of Adderbury Library (FOCAL) and Working for Adderbury Community (WFAC) to support the Milton Road project.
