As residents will be aware, a petition has been submitted to Cherwell District Council (CDC) by West Adderbury Residents Association, for a Community Governance Review, requesting that the Parish of Adderbury is split into two Parish Council areas; East and West Adderbury. Each area will then have its own Parish Council. This request was approved on 20 May 2020 and the full report is available on Cherwell District Council’s web site. http://modgov.cherwell.gov.uk/documents/s43803/Adderbury%20CGR%20-%20cover%20report.pdf
Cherwell District Council has now informed the Parish Council of the process of the Community Governance Review.
A Working Group of CDC Councillors and Officers was appointed by Cherwell District Council and they were due to hold their first meeting between 25 May 2020 and 5 June 2020.
The first stage of the consultation process will begin sometime between 29 June 2020 and 28 August 2020 and will last 9 weeks. Every household in Adderbury will receive a paper copy of the documents and they will also be available on a dedicated page on Cherwell District Council’s web site.
The Working Group will then meet again and consider all of the responses and submit a report to Cherwell District Council for consideration on 19 October 2020.
A second stage of consultations will be held between 2 November 2020 and 4 January 2021 which will again last 9 weeks. Every household in Adderbury will receive a paper copy of the documents and they will also be available on a dedicated page on Cherwell District Council’s web site.
The full report and recommendations of the Working Group will then be submitted to Cherwell District Council on 22 February 2021.
If any residents have information about why the East and West Parish Councils was merged together in the 1970’s the Clerk, Theresa Goss, would be pleased to hear from you. Tel 01295 710965 or firstname.lastname@example.org
The Parish Council encourages all residents in the Parish to complete the consultation documents and add any comments they wish, in order for the Working Group to have as full a picture of the wishes of this community as possible.
